Snake Gourd Pasta Sauce - Tomato free!

    Serves 2

Did you know that a fully ripened snake gourd vegetable transforms into a wonderful tomato replacement? The pulp surrounding the seeds are a bright red color and have a sweet flavor. The orange creamy pulp that is on the skin has a very nice mild pumpkin flavor and has the texture of very creamy mashed potatoes. These two pulps blended together create a smooth sauce and when adding yogurt whey (the sour flavor) it creates a perfect tomato sauce! So delicious!

Here is the wonderful dish I put together together today. Mostly all ingredients came from the garden!

Easy No-bake Brahmacari Cookies

Description

Try these amazing cookies! No need for an oven. These cookies are so simple to make and are great for breakfast, a snack or even a light evening meal. Enjoy!

Ingredients

    •    3 cups whole wheat flour
    •    1 cup cold milk
    •    1/4 cup ghee
    •    1/2 cup sugar
    •    1/4 tsp salt (optional)

Method

  1. Combine all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and then mix and knead into a dough. Use more or less flour as needed. You can also add any sweet spice you like for extra flavor or even chopped nuts.

  2. Using a none stick pan, begin heating the pan on medium low flame. Next, roll the dough out on a floured flat surface using a rolling pin. The dough should be about 1/4 inch high. Then take a drinking glass or cookie cutter and cut out circles. Place the circles on the hot pan and cook on both sides until golden brown. Grab all the extra dough from making the cut outs and again roll out the dough and cut circles and continue cooking like this until all the dough is cooked.

  3. That’s it!! Serve with hot milk and jam and you are ready to offer to Kṛṣṇa with love and devotion!
