Homemade Dry Breakfast Cereal

Why buy store bought cereal full of additives and excess sugar when you can make a healthy version at home in just a few easy steps.
• 4 cups dried rolled oats
• 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
• 1 cup sugar water, 3/4 cup cane sugar & 1/4 cup water melted together
• pitch of salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1/4 cup coconut oil
• 1/2 cup of choice chopped nuts (I used almonds and pecans)
• 1/2 cup choice dried fruit
First preheat oven to 350F/175C. Then gather all the above ingredients, except the dried fruit, and place in a large mixing bowl. Mix everything together until nicely combined.
Next pour the mixture flat onto a large baking pan. The thinner the mix is laying flat the better. This allows the oats to cook evenly.
Place in the oven and bake for about 30-45 minutes. A very important step is to set your timer for 10 minutes. You will need to stir the cereal every 10 minutes until it is nice and crispy dry. It should take about 30-45 minutes. After the granola is done you can then allow it to cool for about 5 minutes and then add the dried fruit. Store in an airtight container.
